The class 1 orientation was held on April 4th 2018. The honorable Principal Br.Miranda addressed the parents and spoke about the holistic development of the children. He emphasized on the significance of effective communication between the parents and the children. He encouraged the parents to converse in English so that the children acquire competency and fluency in the language. He further suggested the ‘Family Reading Time’ activity at home so that parents inspire their children as role models to develop reading habits. Keeping the spirit of our founder Edmund Rice alive he informed the parents about the “Breakfast Program” and “Evening Classes” for needy students supported by the OCA (Old Columban Association) . He guided the parents through a “relaxation session” so as to have a positive approach in life. He later replied to the queries of the parents.
The Head-Mistress of the Junior School, Mrs. R. Kaushal also welcomed the parents. She spoke about the various activities held in class 1 in the last session and the upcoming activities of the current session. A Power Point Presentation was shown to the parents updating them about the various activity rooms in the school that the students will be visiting in the new session like art room, library, computer room and elocution room.
The session concluded with a presentation by the Child Protection Officer Mrs.Pooja Guglani briefing the parents about the “Child Protection Policy” of the school. She counseled the parents to sensitize their children about Good Touch and Bad Touch so as to safeguard them against any kind of abuse.
