Title : ORIENTATION CLASS-2 & 3 (2018-19)

The orientation sessions of classes 2 and 3 began on a prayerful note with the song “I have a maker!” binding the parents and staff members together thereby setting goals for yet another optimistic school year ahead. Honorable  Principal Br. Miranda began with the famous quote — “ Readers make leaders!!” bringing the focus on inculcating Reading Skills among our young learners to enhance their competency in the English language. He applauded the fathers who took time to attend the orientation programs of their wards and reminded them to become inspiring role models for their children. He urged the parents to set achievable yet inspiring goals for their children in sync with the school. He elaborated on the importance of setting rules and discipline at home. He laid emphasis on how each student of St. Columba’s must feel happy about himself with his head held high taking pride in his being. The practical meditation session by Br. Miranda energized the parents and gave them an insight into the relaxation techniques being practiced in school to bring focus to the lives of their children.

The Headmistress of the Junior School, Mrs R. Kaushal addressed the parents with uplifting quotes about happy parenting. She motivated the parents to encourage their children to be independent and foster various life skills in their daily routine. She requested parents to put in supportive systems and spend quality time with their little ones. On the academic front she briefed them about the assessment pattern, Olympiad, Asset Exams and various co-curricular activities of the school. She outlined the commitment of the school to the larger communities, society and environment through various Outreach Programs that would be undertaken in the coming year.

The session ended with a short power point presentation by Mrs. P. Guglani, the Protection Officer of junior school where she emphasised on the pressing need to safeguard our children against any kind of sexual abuse. She motivated the parents to evoke trust and help children find their voice to express themselves.
