Title : STORY TELLING WITH PUPPETS CLASS 2 - CULTURAL SHOW (2018-19)

A competition of Story Telling with Puppets was organised by Class 2 on the 29th of September’18. The creativity of the boys found expression in a brilliant extravaganza of story narrations, puppet manipulations, visual display of decorations, singing and dance. 
The prelude to the presentation had a fascinating enactment by a boy dressed as the storyteller who came with a bag full of stories, folklore, fables and tales of fairies. The acting prowess was at perfect play, as the storyteller set the mood explaining the significance of stories in a verse form. The poetic presentation left all mesmerised. The storyteller invited thunderous applause from one and all. 

The students of Class 2A made use of hand puppets and animal head gear to enact ‘The Crocodile Story.’ A jungle scene was created and the puppets came alive with excellent narration and coordinated manipulation.  The story was accentuated with lovely dancing and a melodious song ‘We are a family’ which conveyed a message of love, peace and harmony. 

The students of Class 2B presented the story of the ocean, ‘Under the Sea’, an adaptation of from the ‘Little Mermaid’ story.  Through this play, the boys supported ‘Life Below Water’ UN Goal – 14 of Sustainable Development Goals.
Using stick puppets and a beautiful background display the boys reminded one and all of our responsibility towards the creatures of the sea.

The students of Class 2C used hand puppets to explain the importance of Healthy Food over Junk Food. Through a beautiful story and hand puppets  depicting fruits and vegetables, the students propagated the significance of healthy choices in our lives. The peppy dance further added to the effect. 

The students of Class 2D enacted the fairy tale - ‘Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs’. The boys dressed like string puppets, used different props to light up the stage with their performances. The foot tapping music and coordinated dance movements amidst backdrops of the castle, jungle, dwarf cottage etc. created a memorable sight. 

The students of Class 2E came up with the story of ‘The Ugly Duckling’ It was a novel presentation with live puppets taking centre stage. It was spellbinding to see the budding actors leaving the audience impressed with their voice modulation, acting skills and melodious singing.
The moral of the story was beautifully summed up in a poem which emphasised on respecting diversity and accepting differences. 

The interludes between the presentations had beautiful songs by the school choir and song presentations by parents, which captivated the attention of the audience. 

The Puppet show brought out the hidden talent among the students as each child was encouraged to participate.The judges and the parents applauded the efforts of the students. The show garnered praise from our honourable Principal, Br. Miranda. The Junior Wing Headmistress appreciated the hardwork of the boys.
