Title : REPUBLIC DAY (2018-19)

The 70th Republic Day was celebrated with great zeal and pride at St. Columba’s School, Ashok Place. The students assembled in Middle School Auditorium at 11:00 am. The day became special with grace of our guests. The guests warmly welcome by our Principal Br. E. V Miranda, and the all heads from different sections.

The program commenced with a speech given by our young and enthusiastic columban on importance of Republic Day, which showcased various freedom fighters’ roles in attaining freedom. The synchronized movements of the students drill presentation intensified the grandeur and solemnity of the occasion with song “kadam kadam badaye ja…” The Junior School boys performed a dance to depict the culture of the various states of our country, which presented Unity in Diversity. The program preceded by the presentation on significance of tricolor of the National Flag.

It took on a full swing with the middle school choir group, which presented a patriotic song “ Ae Vatan“ followed by an accentuated mime act in remembrance of great freedom fighters M.K Gandhi, Subhash Chandra Bose, Bhagat Singh, Sugveer and Rajguru. 

The soulful presentation of group songs “ The lean on” and “Stand by me” presented by senior school was indeed a treat to watch.

Along with Republic Day celebration, the staff of St. Columba’s School took the opportunity to felicitate our retired staff, PTA members and past pupils for spending a glorious tenure in St. Columba’s. 

Our Principal, Br. Miranda, addressed the gathering, emphasizing on the need of a being better citizen and creating a better nation. The program ended with the National Anthem.
