Education is a shared commitment between dedicated teachers, motivated students and enthusiastic parents. It is an effective partnership between parents, families and schools to support children’s learning, leading to improved learning outcomes. At SCS, we completely understand the importance of a child’s growth and the sensitive role played by parents along with teachers in fostering the child's learning. In order to further cement the parent-teacher partnerships, Parent Orientation Programmes were organized in the month of August for all classes of the Junior Wing at different dates.
Our Principal, Br. Miranda enlightened the gathering each time by walking through the vision and philosophy of the school. The parents were given an insight into the SCS learning system which is based on the belief that locked within every child is the inherent potential for greatness. This was followed by an engaging and interactive session between Br. Miranda and the parents.
It began with a few moments of heartfulness where everyone present meditated together as a community. Our Principal then laid stress on effective communication between teachers and parents. He also sought their support and suggestions so that the best could be done for the overall development of the students. A few parents shared their concerns and the Principal gave tips as to how to raise kids who should not only be disciplined but at the same time be happy and responsible human beings. A presentation was shown for the parents to understand the filling of Cumulative Report Card and the projected marks. He made them aware of the upcoming events of this year. He emphasized on parents teaching their children how to carry their school bags in the proper manner so as to avoid ache and stress on the back. A related video clip was also shared with all the parents.
The one hour session with each class ended with a lot of takeaways for the parents. It set them thinking and reflecting about their contribution in their child’s life. A lot of parents were appreciative and thankful to the Principal for taking such an informative session.
