EVENT: INTERSCHOOL DEBATE COMPETITION
One Planet: Billions of people. The human race has not only grown exponentially over the past few centuries but has also brought about dramatic shifts to the Natural Environment.
To deliberate on the above issue, Presentation Convent School organised the 19th Annual Inter School Debate on 22 ND August on the topic: “AILING PLANET STILL LOVES THE HUMANKIND”
The purpose of the debate was to train the future denizens to make a judicious choice of a cleaner and greener world. The event witnessed participation of class IX students from eminent schools of Delhi. Each speaker was given three minutes to present their views and convince the judges with their arguments. The parameters on which the competition was adjudged were: Clarity of thought, Eloquence, Expression and Confidence.
St. Columba’s was represented by Shaun Ramsay of 9A who spoke for the motion and Madhav Sachdeva of 9A who spoke against the motion. They were enthusiastic in presenting their views and displayed a deep understanding of the topic. It was indeed a commendable performance. On the whole it was an enriching and learning experience for all the participants.
