Title : THE SCIENCE AND MATHS EXHIBITION BY CLASS 3 (2019-20)

Education in today’s scenario aims at holistic development and a pragmatic approach to learning. This approach propagates learning by doing and experiencing things. Exhibitions, projects and  presentations are the media that pave the way for experiential learning in our school.

On the 23rd of August 2019, a Science and Maths Exhibition was organized in the Junior Wing by the students of Class 3.

The Junior Wing hall was beautifully decorated with posters, charts and an interesting section wise display of projects.

There was a fabulous presentation of static and working models on various themes and concepts of Science and Mathematics. Apart from the models, there were many live experiments that the boys conducted with much enthusiasm, explaining the underlying scientific principles. The students were guided and encouraged to work in groups on the models during their Summer holidays. The objective was to promote a spirit of enquiry, inculcate a scientific attitude in learning and understanding various concepts. The exhibition was a splendid opportunity for  the students to hone their social and communication skills by working in teams and presenting their projects.

The Principal, Br. Miranda, the Headmistress of the Junior Wing, Mrs Ritu Kaushal, the judges and other esteemed guests were extremely appreciative of the efforts and enthusiasm of the students. They interacted with the students posing questions and listening to them intently. There was an array of interesting scientific and mathematical topics like Rain Water Harvesting, Hydraulic Bridges, Data Handling, Organic Farming, Mathematical games and puzzles, and  Delhi Metro chosen for the projects. The students took the initiative in conducting live experiments about sedimentation, filtration, producing electricity from a potato, atmospheric pressure, colour whirlpool in milk, etc. The parents took pride in listening to the students and enjoyed the confident explanations of scientific principles by the budding scientists.

This exhibition was yet another step in the pursuit of exposing our students to enriching learning opportunities based on experiential learning.
