The Columban Open Quiz is one of the most awaited annual events of St. Columba’s School. Every year the school campus is buzzing with aspiring quizzers from more than forty schools across Delhi-NCR.
This year yet again, SCS saw participation of about 140 schools for the Inter COQ on 30th August. The winners from the preliminary round moved to semi-finals and 13 teams made their way to the finals on 31st August.
A team of dedicated Ex- Columbans worked tirelessly to make this event a success. Months of prior preparation by Mrs Renuka Popli and her team from the senior school made this a memorable event. We are proud to share that three teams of St Columba’s made it to the finals. The renowned Quizmaster and Ex-Columban Mr Kunal Savarkar and his wife facilitated one of the final rounds and they were ably assisted by other prominent quiz masters from the Delhi Quiz Circuit. After a journey across many rounds and many trick questions, Delhi Public School, Noida bagged the first prize, St Columba’s came second and Modern School, Barakhamba Road came third.
The COQ organising team will always be grateful to Oxford University Press for always supporting the event and encouraging young lads to continue quizzing with all the fervour and enthusiasm.
