A mock drill due to Fire was conducted on 28th September 2019. It was assumed that the fire has taken place in the knowledge centre as the room has computers and there is a possibility of a fire as a hazard. The siren chosen was different from the Earthquake drill siren. The students have been apprised with sounds of different sirens. The siren was activated at 11 am sharp. The teachers in the classes stopped whatever they were doing and facilitated the movement according to the DM plan. c The classes carried their placards along with them.
The students, the teachers, the admin staff and the helpers assembled on the middle school ground. There were a few classes on the field practising for the Sports Day. They too brought an abrupt halt to their practise and assembled in the area designated for these classes.
The head count of the students was done and reported to the DM team. No member was found to be missing.
It took 3 minutes 30 seconds to evacuate the entire building .Total number of students were 1043 along with them the teachers 3 admin staff and 14 helpers were also part of the drill.
The nurse was also on the field with her First Aid box to assist in case of any injury. However no student was injured in the drill
The floor in charges checked the building and everything was found in place .After a short briefing by the headmistress the students were directed back in the building to resume their classes
Overall it was a fruitful exercise.
