In today’s times where corruption is rampant, violence breaks out regularly and patience wears thin among people, Mahatma Gandhi and his teachings are more relevant than ever. St Columba’s School is marking the 150th birth anniversary of the Father of our Nation through various events and activities that have been conducted in his honour. Keeping in with the school’s initiative, children from classes 7 to 10 of Middle School participated in an on-the-spot letter writing competition and quiz competition organized by the PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry on 3rd October 2019 at August Kranti Marg.
The on-the-spot letter writing competition was based on the theme of Dhai Akhar wherein participants were asked to write a letter on the topic, “Dear Bapu, You are immortal.” A total of 37 students participated from classes 7 to 10. The results of the competition are awaited.
The quiz competition was based on Mahatma Gandhi, Freedom Struggle of India and Philately. Sushant Kumar of class 10B secured the third position in the competition.
All the participants from St. Columba's exhibited great zeal to be part of the event and performed admirably.
