Title : ADVERTISEMENT COMPETITION (CLASS 2) (2019-20)

‘Good Advertising does not just circulate information. It penetrates the public mind with desires and belief.’ - William Bernbach

In this era of digital revolution, strategic marketing and advertising is very much in the limelight. Advertisements are curated and targeted to focus on and grab the attention of consumers by establishing a connect with their daily lives. The students of Class 2 got a wonderful opportunity to hone their skills of communication and presentation when on the 1st of October, 2019 - the ‘Make an Advertisement’ competition was organised in the Junior Wing.

The programme began on an interesting note as the members of the Elocution Club came up with a novel prelude presentation tracing the History of Advertising. Starting from Egypt and China where advertising began with symbolic presentations and ‘Town Criers’ to the current digital marketing storm on Facebook and Twitter - the boys eloquently presented change through the years.

This was followed by each section of class 2 presenting five different Advertisements about different products and concepts. The students with their teachers designed the advertisements of products which they wanted to bring in the market in future. Using techniques of persuasion and through catchy tag lines and slogans, the students aimed to leave an everlasting impression on the audience. There was also a simple yet heartfelt effort by the students to draw the attention of the audience towards pertinent social causes like Child Labour, Unity in Diversity, etc. Some Public awareness advertisements on issues of Water Conservation and Plastic Free Earth were indeed thought provoking for one and all.

This programme was indeed a noteworthy attempt by the educators of the Junior Wing as they created a novel learning experience which infused much enthusiasm among the students. This surely added to their confidence as each child got the opportunity to face the audience. The foot tapping jingles and coordinated dance moves had the parents grooving.

Our Honourable Principal Br. Miranda and the Junior Wing Headmistress, Mrs. Ritu Kaushal were all praises for the efforts of the students and applauded them for the interesting presentations. The judges appreciated the confidence and conviction with which the presentations were conducted. This programme was surely a step towards a creative journey for our budding future entrepreneurs.
