St.Columba’s School organised the 36th edition of the Columban Fest, on the 18th and 19th of October, 2019.
Providing a unique opportunity for our budding Columbans on the 18th, followed by talented participants from across 40 of the most prestigious schools across new delhi on the 19th, The Fest was witness to the largest crowd our school has ever witnessed for any inter-school event.
Our chief guest of honour was Dr.Arun Mehta, renowned physicist, who was an alumnus of our school, from the batch of 1967.
Day 1: The intra-school leg of the Columban Fest commenced with the innaugration ceremony, duly attended by the all the students and teachers of the senior school.
Post the ceremony, the students dispersed to their respective venues for the events that readily awaited them, which was a unique conglomeration of diversified activities, ranging from rangoli-making to extempore, dance to photography, dumb charades to solo singing.
Participants from renowned schools also dawned upon the stages of St.Columba’s to showcase their mystical voices and melodic performances, in the CADENCE event.
Post the completion of events, the day concluded with the declaration of the much-awaited results, and the award distribution by Mr.Chopra.
Day 2: The Inter-School Columban Fest was witness to its most encouraging, its most diverse, and its largest bunch of participants in its 36 year history.
The day commenced with the innaugration ceremony, where we were graced by the presence of Dr.Arun Mehta, our chief guest of honour, whose aura and persona was inspiring for our participants.
The innaugration began with the lighting of the ceremonial lamp by our principal Brother Miranda, along with our adminstrators, and Mrs.Mehrotra, the teacher-in-charge.
An illustratory film was shown to our participants, along with an innaugral dance by the dance society.
Upon its conclusion, we kicked off with our events.
The events for the day were as follows:-
* Effervescence: A Science Exhibition.
* Conflux: A Mock Stock
* Dance Fiesta: Western Group Dance Competition.
* Steppin’ Out: Western Solo Dance Competition.
* Ehsaas: A Short Film Competition.
* Trishna: Just Act - A Street Play Competition
* Trishna: Just Art - An Art Competition.
* Voice From The Sky: Radiojockey
* Radioactive: Robotics Event
* Glitch: Gaming Competition
The Fest concluded with our administrator, Mr.Chopra, delivering the vote of thanks.
It was finally time for the results. St.Columba’s School, being 1st in 3 of the events, was the best school in the Fest. But since we are the host school, the award for the best school was won by BLUEBELLS INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL.
All in all, it was once-in-a-lifetime experience for all of us at St. Columba’s
