St Columba’s young men yet again prove themselves to be the phenomenon.
Shaheed Sukhdev College of Business Studies organises ‘Prodigy’ which is an annual inter-school competition. It is a national level event with over 1100 teams participating from schools all over the country.
This time the students were given a case study on “Energy Max” (a coal beneficiation company). The students had to use their financial acumen, problem solving skills and wit to get the company out of its problems.
The subsequent rounds were held on the 3rd and 4th of October 2019 on the college campus. On the first day the teams were divided into groups of two where one group participated in the Mockstock and the other group in the Business quiz. Through their performances in the respective events, the top thirty teams were shortlisted for events that were taking place on the following day.
The next day the teams were given the challenging task of managing a NBFC company where they had to allocate capital and invest in securities. The next round consisted of an auction simulation where the teams had to bod on consumer products. The teams then had to grow their business by raising capital, increasing production, investing in technology and entering new markets. After this round the top 7 teams were chosen. In the last round the teams had to merge together and give a business pitch on their new product.
We are very proud to share that out of the 1100 schools participating, not only did our columbans got selected for the second round of events but also secured 5th position all over India.
