Title : 150 YEARS AND STILL SEEMS LIKE YESTERDAY! ( GANDHI JAYANTI ) - (2019-20)

Gandhi Jayanti celebrations at St Columba’s School

St Columba’s school hosted a series of events in the last week of September to celebrate Gandhi’s 150 birth anniversary. The senior school organised a debate on the topic ‘Gandhi has no relevance today’. It was an interesting debate with the students sharing their views how the ideas and philosophies have any bearing to our future or not.

Many other programmes happened across the school from Fancy Dress Competition and All Faith Prayer service to the cleanliness drive (Swachata ke liye Gandhigiri), Painting and Drawing competition, Essay writing and Slogan Writing competition.

On the 1st of October we culminated this week long celebration into a combined assembly celebration of all the three wings, Senior, Middle and Junior. This day was celebrated as the Khadi Diwas where the teachers and administration staff were clad in khadi wears.

The assembly was a lively ensemble of songs, street play, slogan sharing by tiny tots, a wonderful radio show and so much more. The chief guest for the day was DCP, New Delhi Dr. Eish Singhal. He was very happy with the programme and appreciated the students for a wonderful show. Brother EV. Miranda presented a small token to our chief guest on behalf of our school.

It was definitely an exciting week and a great learning platform for our children.
