Title : SAY NO TO BULLYING! (2019-20)

Stay happy while making others happy.

Ms.Rai Sengupta was invited to conduct the Anti-Bullying workshop for the students of class 11 at St. Columba's School on 28th September 2019 to educate the students about the various aspects that affect a person’s life when they bully someone or even when they are bullied.

Rai Sengupta is a development consultant by profession who works with IPE Global- an international development consultancy firm based out of New Delhi. Rai is currently evaluating a maternal and child cash transfer programme in Myanmar, on behalf of UNICEF.

A Youth Speaker, Rai speaks and conducts workshops on various themes including human rights, social entrepreneurship and youth action. She has spoken at several schools and colleges across the NCR including IIT Delhi, Hindu College, Kirori Mal College, Ashoka University, Jindal Global Law School, Kamala Nehru College, Maitreyi College, IP College for Women etc. This Anti-Bullying workshop has been conducted across many schools in the NCR, including The Shri Ram School Moulsari, The Shri Ram School Aravali, Convent of Jesus and Mary, St. Thomas' School and Shiv Nadar School.

Through this workshop the boys at St. Columba’s were made to think of how as a student they have been at both ends of the stick when it comes to bullying. Most of them could confidently say that any of it didn’t feel good. Being the one who gets bullied is unhealthy and frustrating for obvious reasons, but being someone who was bullied and later became a bully is what terrified them most. They realized that most of them had turned into what they immensely hated the most in their past.

“Being the bully is never good in the long run, your fun and amusement can ruin someone’s life. Stay happy while making others happy.”
