A group of 125 students from classes 4 to 10 along with 13 teachers went on a three days’ trip to Ranthambore, Rajasthan from 26th to 28th December’19. This trip was planned with the objective of exposing our students to new learning experiences and improving their life skills.
At the station, the excitement and joy of going with friends was writ large on the faces of our boys. The train journey was exciting and a picnic in itself. The cold winter mornings and evenings of Ranthambore did not dampen their spirits and the boys actively participated in games, activities and workshops.
The highlights of this trip were:
1. Early morning thrilling safari to the Ranthambore National Park in canters. Two of our groups were lucky to sight a tiger besides other animals such as deer, peacocks, bears, owls, etc.
2. Rocket making and launching
3. Visit to the Rajiv Gandhi Museum and Dastkar Showroom for hands on experience in block printing
4. A puppet show and Rajasthani cultural programme in the evenings, followed by music by a DJ.
5. Clay Pottery making.
Active socializing took place during meal times and after dinner indoor games sessions took place
As one of our students commented, “In the Safari, we felt very close to nature and wildlife. It was the most adventurous part of our trip
Another student of Class 6 said, “The journey was full of enjoyment and masti. The best was the DJ where we danced a lot and had a great time.”
As the trip drew to a close, some boys felt that the trip was too short and wanted more time with their friends. On our return to Delhi, well past midnight, the parents were happy to see their wards bubbling with excitement and impatient to narrate their long tales of the trip.
