The Namaste program was held on Friday,24th January 2020 to bid farewell to many of our beloved teachers. This solemn occasion was attended by all the students and staff of St.Columba’s school on the senior school field.
The program started with the junior school kids performing a play felicitating our teachers with a skit followed by a poem and song by the students of middle school on the occasion of Republic Day. This invoked the feeling of patriotism within the audience.
This was followed by honouring the teachers who were retiring. Each teacher was first felicitated by a staff member who gave a heart-warming farewell speech followed by the reading on the plaque by the Heads of the Junior, Middle and Senior schools. This was then handed over to them by a PTA member.
Formerly retired members of the Columban family were felicitated by welcoming them and presenting them with a rose and a copy of the annual magazine. We were honoured to also have the PTA members grace this occasion.
Moving on, our beloved Principal, Br.E.V. Miranda presented ‘The Gentleman of the year’ to Nixon Joseph of class XI. Mr Umesh Sharma, a parent, was also honoured and presented a memento for his voluntary services to help students cross the road everyday for the last two years
Furthermore, the melodies by the middle and senior school choirs filled the air with patriotism as well as nostalgia. The program finally concluded with a dance by the senior school followed by the vote of thanks by Br. Miranda.
