Title : FOUNDER'S DAY. ( 2020-21 )

And let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up. -Galatians 6:9

We, at St. Columba's, are privileged to be the torch bearers of Edmund’s legacy, the Blessed Founder of the Congregation of Christian Brothers.  In his fond memory, the Junior School organised an online assembly amidst the current lockdown, commemorating Founder’s Day on 5th of May 2020.
The day began on an inspiring note with the students learning about our blessed Founder through a creative video story depicting the life of Edmund Rice.

The audio visual presentation depicted how Edmund devoted his life and fortune to educating the poor and the marginalised, ensuring that those he helped developed the necessary life skills of confidence and compassion, with an understanding of how to effect change in their own lives and those of others.

The assembly began in the zero period with a soulful prayer followed by brief enactments as part of a short film revolving around the life events of Edmund Rice. What followed was a beautiful narration on how we, under the guidance of our respected Principal, Brother Miranda are carrying on the legacy of our Founder’s vision, treading the path of righteousness striving to build inclusive communities and inculcating life skills among the students entrusted in our care. We aspire to and instill values in their hearts at a very young age with the hope that they will carry and pass on these strong values to the larger community.  The assembly culminated with the Edmund Rice song motivating us to walk in the light of his vision. Especially in this phase of change and innovation, Edmund is our guiding light who continues to live in each one of us and inspires us each day...!
