Title : EASTER CELEBRATIONS (2020-2021 )

“Easter is meant to be a symbol of hope, renewal and new life”-Janine Di Giovanni.
Easter is a Christian festival which celebrates new life and rebirth. Easter arrives at the end of the Holy Week and right after Good Friday, which commemorates Jesus' crucifixion and death.

According to the Bible, Jesus' death was a sacrifice for our sins , but his resurrection represents salvation, and renewal of faith.
Many of its symbols, such as rabbits and eggs come from ancient traditions.

This academic year we have embarked on a new learning journey with our students through online classes and activities, since the schools are closed as of now.

Likewise, the Easter celebrations this year were marked by creative activities integrated with art and learning which were included in various blogs for Classes KG to 3.

The Kindergarten children had fun doing a colouring activity in which they coloured and decorated Easter Egg pictures with the caption ‘I AM EGGSTRAORDINARY'- the egg symbolising new life and rebirth.
The boys of Class 1 enjoyed listening to the Easter story and participated in art and decoration activities sent by the teachers in their respective blogs.

For Classes 2 and 3, Catechism lessons were designed based on the Holy Week. During this week, the lessons focussed on Maundy Thursday, Good Friday and Easter Sunday. The teachers suggested an interesting activity for Palm Sunday wherein children engaged with their parents at home for some art and craft fun.

These activities surely helped the students understand the Easter story.
It was a wonderful reminder of the Christian ethic to celebrate Christ’s resurrection and allow it to become a reality in our lives as we live anew victoriously.
