Our Principal Brother Miranda along with the senior school faculty conducted an online orientation for the parents of class XI students on 24th July at 7:00 p.m. Brother addressed the parents, informing them about the structure of the orientation which was followed by an opening prayer.
He presented the screen and talked about how adapting to online teaching has become the new normal now.
The results of the survey conducted for the parents was shown to the parents. A total of 3128 parents had responded. Brother, discussed about each and every point explaining the steps school is taking to solve the issues which have come up. Brother, also explained about how school is fully equipped to start on site classes if the school reopens. The parents were informed that the school plans to start onsite school with minimum strength.
Then the school Counsellors team (Sumit Yadav (Senior), Sangeeta Tripathi, Aarti Bardhan (Middle), Nandita Kalra(Junior)) gave a presentation on Creating Awareness on Cyber Security. They talked about netiquettes of online classes and while using internet. They spoke on digital wellness (negative cyber behavior and positive cyber behavior), cyberbullying and cyberstalking, cyber law, antivirus software and supervision software’s.
Mrs. Chatterjee, the senior school coordinator, then addressed the parents taking about the changes in assessment and how school plans to take exams and internal assessment. She also covered points related to the changes in the syllabus.
Brother answered all the questions, queries and concerns which were raised by the parents earlier and during the orientation.
Mr. Chopra addressed the parents on different issues which are been faced by teachers during the online classes like short attendance of children during Google meets, cameras not on etc.
This orientation was a resourceful and a necessary one, where aspects of studying online which is a new concept to most of the parents was discussed in detail.
