Title : ONLINE MORNING ASSEMBLY BY CLASS - 2B (2020-21)

‘Exercise not only changes your body, it changes your mind, attitude and mood.’

Physical fitness and good health are key elements of a happy and fruitful life. We at St. Columba’s nurture the well-being of both body and mind as part of our teaching methodology. Keeping the same in mind a beautiful assembly was organised on 3rd September, 2020 by Class 2 B.

The topic of the assembly-‘BE FIT and BE FINE, so that we all can shine’ was chosen to impart the message of staying healthy and fit in the times of lockdown when outdoor physical activity is restricted.

The boys began the assembly with a beautiful Lord’s Prayer – ‘I love you Jesus!’- to evoke the presence of the divine.
This was followed by an interesting short skit which depicted a conversation between two friends. The conversation ventured around the different activities the boys indulged in at home to keep themselves occupied during the lock down period. Through the funny and hilarious conversation brilliant ideas on spending time fruitfully in healthy indoor fitness activities were suggested.

The conversation was followed by a student explaining the importance of Sports and Games in our life. Much emphasis was laid on how physical exercises rejuvenate our mind and improve our concentration.

The session came to an end with the beautiful thought of the day –
“Don’t stop when you’re tired, stop when you’re done.”

The boys were excited to wish their dear teachers – ‘A very Happy Teacher’s Day!’ They expressed their gratitude to their teachers through a heart touching poem. The students also showcased hand-made cards which they had made especially for their teachers to make them feel special.

Mrs Kaushal was happy to address the boys and thanked them on behalf of all teachers. She applauded their efforts and encouraged them to focus on their health and well being.
