Title : ONLINE MORNING ASSEMBLY BY CLASS 2E (2020-21)

On the fine morning of 14th October 2020, the boys of class 2E took centre stage to present the online morning assembly for the Junior School.

The assembly revolved around the pious theme – peace. The assembly commenced with the ‘Word of God’ which was followed by a lively song titled-“I’ve got peace in my heart...!” prepared by the children. The two budding pianists, Soham Gupta and Jayden Pradhan from Class 2E presented a musical performance as they played the notes on the keyboard.

The skit that followed impressed one and all. The boys enacted a story of a king who announced a reward to the artist who would paint the best painting depicting peace. Many great painters sent the king several of their best art pieces.
But when the king announced the winner, everyone was shocked. The picture which won the prize had rugged and bare mountains with lightning in the sky. The students highlighted that the painting didn’t look peaceful at all. It looked like the artist has mistakenly submitted his painting depicting storm rather than peace. But if anyone looked closely at the painting, he could see a tiny bush growing in the cracks of the rock. In the bush a mother bird had built her nest. In the midst of the rush of angry weather, the bird sat in her nest in peace. Thus through this heartwarming tale the boys imparted the message that peace does not mean to be in a place where there is no noise or trouble. Peace means to be in the midst of all the chaos and still be calm in the heart. The mother bird's calm, despite her chaotic surroundings indeed was the best representation for peace. The boys suggested that we stay calm in the most difficult of times and practice inner peace to deal with the challenges of life.

The assembly came to an end with an enthusiastic song presentation which brought smiles on the faces of the audience.

Mrs. Kaushal, Headmistress of the Junior School commended the beauty of the assembly reiterating that real peace is a state of mind, not a state of the surroundings. She emphasised on the importance of mindfulness and practicing calm in our daily lives.
