Title : EUPHONY

At St Columba's, music and art are vibrant and vital components of the curriculum. Music and art not only stimulate the senses but also foster creative thinking among children, coupling their intellectual and imaginative energies – thus urging them to remember, re-imagine, reinvent and rejuvenate.

The Kindergarten Annual Rhyme and Rhythm Show is a very special event in the school calendar. The students of the Kindergarten put up a magical virtual show for their enthusiastic and excited grandparents, parents, siblings and teachers this year in the month of January 2021.

Exotic sea and land  animals, vibrant colours, bountiful nature, profound emotions, scrumptious goodies, eternal love were the different themes to which the classes performed songs, recited rhymes and showcased their art work. Whether it was hand tracing, finger printing or paper craft, the students displayed their marvellous art work integrated with creative EVS and Value Education activities. Be it the traditional Warli Art or experimenting with shapes by rolling the dough into perfect circles or decorating delicious muffins, our boys surely had a blast with hands-on learning experiences. Talk of transcending boundaries and achieving holistic learning!

The boys displayed various Yoga poses and ‘Asanas’ integrated with imagery. So the boys turned out to be trees, birds, mountains and demonstrated strength and agility as they performed the Vrikshasana, the Parvatasana, and similar other elegant asanas.

The endearing smiles and the enchanting music infused gait. The beaming faces and the rhythmic movement to the beats of music were a testimony to their having a fun time while learning. Welcome to just another day of learning in SCS Junior School!
