For Columbans the act to be responsible starts as young as the prefecture ceremony
The Middle School Investiture Ceremony for the newly appointed prefects and House captains and Vice House Captains from the middle school for the academic year 2021-22 was held on the 17th of June 2021. The event was attended by the newly appointed prefects and their parents as well as all the teachers from the Middle School. It was also graced by the presence of the Principal Brother Miranda and the headmistress Mrs. Aparajita Pal.
The event began with a welcome address following which a motivational song and video was played to encourage the boys during these unprecedented times and also reiterate the change that the role of leadership has undergone with the present situation of online education.
The names of all the newly appointed prefects, House Captains and Vice House Captains were announced and greeted with a round of applause.
The boys took the oath to carry out their duties for the academic year 2021-22.
Following this the prefecture was addressed by the Principal as well as by the Headmistress wherein the boys were encouraged to stand up to the challenge of the time and carry out their duties to the best of their abilities so as to bring alive the true Columban spirit and thus prove that that they had been rightly chosen for this post.
The ceremony ended with the singing of the school anthem and a vote of thanks.
