At the end of the day, the most overwhelming key to a child’s success is the positive involvement of the parents
The second informative Parent Orientation for the session 2021-22 was organised by the senior school for the parents of both class 11 and 12 on 6th and 9th August 2021 respectively. In the beginning, Principal, Bro. Miranda welcomed all the parents and briefed them about the proceedings of the orientation. The session included heads of the senior school and counsellors of all the three wings of the school briefing parents about different academic and non-academic related issues. Mr. N. Chopra, the administrator of senior school, spoke about salient features of CBSE, curriculum, its objectives, revised exam pattern and the rationalised syllabus. Project work conduction was also discussed along with a few words of advice on how to proceed.
Mrs. Chatterjee, The Senior School Coordinator, briefed about the internal examinations including periodic assessment, internal assessment and mid-term examinations according to CBSE. The co-curricular activities were also brought into focus. Names of the members of these co-curricular clubs were also displayed during the presentation. The students and parents were also notified about the upcoming events.
An important part of orientation was taken up by the counsellors where an explicit and frank discussion on creating a safe online environment took place. It addressed various issues like Cyber-laws, Cyber-bullying etc. and informed parents about how to deal in case of such problems.
The last part of the session dealt with career counselling program for students of class 11 and 12 informing parents about the Mindler program and its benefits. The session concluded with Bro. Miranda answering queries from parents.
