Fire-safety mock drill on campus
A Fire safety mock drill was conducted on 7th October 2021. It was assumed that the fire had taken place in the knowledge centre as the room has computers and there is a possibility of a fire hazard. The siren was activated at 12.35 PM sharp. The teachers in the classes stopped teaching and facilitated the movement as per the safety exits chalked out by the Disaster Management Team.
The students, teachers, admin staff and the helpers assembled on the middle school ground. The nurse was also on the field with her First Aid box to assist in case of any injury. It took 2 minutes 30 seconds to evacuate the entire building however, no one was injured in the drill. The floor in charges checked the building and everything was found to be in place. The head count was done after the drill and no member was reported missing. After a brief feedback by the Disaster Management Team in charge, the students were directed back to the building to resume their classes. Overall, it was a fruitful exercise.
