With this noble thought the Junior School Boys came together to celebrate the Environment Week. The week long campaign was an earnest initiative to create awareness for conservation and protection of our environment.
The Assembly area adorned an Environment friendly look with posters, slogans and students dressed up in colourful dresses. The boys took over the stage to present meaningful skits, role plays, poems and songs, thereby spreading the motto of a cleaner and greener world.
The Class 1 boys, on a pious note led with a thoughtful prayer- remembering to thank and pledging to respect plant life. The students made a commendable effort to speak on behalf on our "Green Friends-- Trees" and emphasised how our little efforts to keep our surroundings clean can go a long way in preserving the beauty of our planet.
As an initiative to remind us about the deteriorating state of our environment, the Class 2 boys presented a beautiful skit citing a contrast between how our planet earth used to be and the present alarming state. Motivating fellow Columbans to adopt eco- friendly measures, the boys displayed innovative articles made out of waste so as to urge their peers to REDUCE, REUSE and RECYCLE our various natural resources.
Raising a voice against different kinds of Pollution, the Class 3 boys' slogan-----
"Be part of The SOLUTION not part of the POLLUTION!" was loud and clear. Explaining the definition, causes, dangers and health hazards of pollution the boys made heartfelt pleas to save Mother Earth. With a melodious song on environment preservation, the weeklong celebration had a befitting end.
