Br. Steinmayer House of the Middle School, St. Columba’s, organised an event called ‘Confluence’ in the month of December-2021. This event was organised to raise awareness on SDG12 Responsible Consumption and Production by initiating a series of impactful events keeping the Christmas theme of sharing and caring in mind. Participation was promoted not only by awarding participation and merit certificates, but also by the prefects who canvassed for the event in their respective classes. It was a collaborative effort.

We invited six of our Edmund Rice schools to participate in the event.
These included:
1.    St. Joseph's, Kolkata
2.    St Mary's, Dum Dum
3.    St. John's, Chandigarh
4.    St. Augustine's High School
5.    St. Patrick's High school
6.    St. Vincent's High and Technical School

A total of seven events were organised for the students (classes 4-10) to participate in and showcase their creativity and awareness of SDG 12.

These events were as follows:

2.    YOUTH CANVAS (Poster Making)

4.    VOICE OF CHANGE (Elocution)
5.    "RESPONSIBLE" CLICK (Photography)
6.    FOOD FOR THOUGHT using left over items to make Unique food items.
7.    THE TREE OF CHANGE using left over material to decorate a tree.

The Principals of the participating schools - Br Lobo, Ms Kavita Das, Mr Ravi Victor and Mr Nigel D’Souza alongwith Ms Neha (Resource person Social Justice and Advocacy Programme, Edmund Rice Schools in India), Mr Steve Rocha (National Convener/Director - PRATYek NINEISMINE), Mr Raghav Chadda (Member of the legislative assembly in the Delhi Government and the Vice Chairman of the Delhi Jal Board) and Br Miranda shared their thoughts about SDG -12. Their video recording was shared with the students every morning which inspired and sensitised our young Columbans.

Riyansh Guglani of Class 5B enacted Santa and prepared various videos creatively showcasing the importance of SDG12 which were shown to the students.

Padlets were also prepared by the prefects and the students of Br Steinmayer house and shared in each class where every boy had the opportunity to share his perspective and thought on SDG 12.

All the students participated enthusiastically in different activities and in the process learnt about SDG- 12 Responsible Consumption and Production.

Confluence - a merging of intents, ideas and action for a sustainable future.
