Title : UNNAT - CULTURAL SHOW BY CLASS 2 ( 2021-22 )

The students of Class 2 showcased the different Indian states in their myriad colours on 20th December 2021. All the 5 sections took pride in displaying the different traditions and culture in an innovative way.

India is home to several well-known large and small animals and we are proud of its rich flora and fauna. In response to the decrease in the number of wild animals, due to the inhuman activities of people, the Government of India established a system of national parks and wildlife sanctuaries.

The 2A students took us to a ‘Jungle Christmas party’ in a South Indian wildlife sanctuary. SDG 15 – Life on Land – was brought to fore through an insightful skit whereby the animals reminded mankind of their duty to co-exist responsibly with other living beings and take care of our planet Earth.

The presentation by 2B highlighted “The Seven Sisters of India” – the North Eastern states. The boys took everyone on a journey through this beautiful part of India portraying the uniqueness of the states showcasing their contributions in the Olympics, their exemplary cleanliness, values of integrity and trust, the Manipuri and Bihu dance forms, etc. There was an interesting skit on the role of freedom fighter – Khan Bahadur which left all spellbound. The CBSE Mission of “Swachhta Pakhwada” was further highlighted with the example of the plastic free state of Sikkim.

The 2C students took everyone on a fun filled journey through the monuments and hill stations of North India. The foot-tapping performance of the Kashmiri traditional dance – ‘Rouf’, transported all present to the Maple and Tulip gardens in Srinagar. The CBSE Reading Mission was also taken forward as the boys performed a skit on a traditional folk tale they had read in class. The students also shared their role models – famous Indian personalities who inspire them. The Riddle Session left all with smiles on their faces.

The 2D students weren’t far behind and presented the ‘Gems of Western India’ – as a child dressed as a tourist guide showed the local monuments and places of interest as well as the traditional food and folk dances. The students impressed the audience with their confidence and innovative way of presenting the rich culture and heritage of our country. Grooving to the beats of – ‘Dil Hai Hindustani’, the boys delivered the message – “Wherever we go or whichever part of India we belong to, the truth is that WE ARE ONE and UNITED”.

Taking the same theme forward, the students of class 2E reminded us of peace and unity that our country stands for since ancient times. They depicted the story of Ashoka-the great, whose values and teachings as a peace-loving ruler still hold  true even now. The students presented a beautiful enactment beginning with a prayer dedicated to peace.
The audience was left inspired as the boys of class 2E turned a page of history and related it so very well to the present circumstances. The little Columban Peacemakers not only spread a message for harmony but also of making peace with all creatures on this Earth while inculcating peace within to make this world a better place.

This show truly lived up to the its name as it symbolised
- “EK BHARAT SHRESHTHA BHARAT”.
In his concluding address our respected Principal Brother Miranda encouraged the boys and heaped praises for all their efforts. Our Headmistress, Mrs Kaushal commended the confidence with which the students weaved this vibrant journey taking the audience through our great cultural heritage and legacy.
