Our Middle schoolers enthusiastically participated in reading activities
Reading is the gateway skill that makes all other learning possible. The English Language Lab at St Columba’s School organized numerous activities for grades 4 to 6 in December and January 2022. The activities aimed at igniting and fueling students’ interest in reading, creative writing and deepening their love for different genres. Our budding readers participated enthusiastically in each activity.
Class 4 – The students read the book “Blue Umbrella” by Ruskin Bond and wrote exceptional book reviews in a given template. They also performed a Show & Tell activity.
Class 5 – The students made a story map on their favourite book during the winter break.
Class 6 – The students analyzed the book and the movie “Wonder” to compare and contrast in a creative template. It helped them understand the importance of each medium to attract the audiences accordingly. They also wrote the summary and character sketches to enhance their writing skills.
These activities turned out to be an engaging experience making learning fun for our students.
