Senior School Events Detail

Title : SUCCESS BELONGS TO THOSE WHO PERSEVERE ( 2021-22 )

A.) Ansh Gupta of class XII -A participated in Pariksha Pe Charcha 2022 Under the guidance of Mrs. Susan John, where he wrote an essay on Environment sustainability, and asked a pertinent question related to student’s role in sustainability. He also secured third position in ICAI wizard quiz organized by Institute of Chartered Accountants of India out of thousands of students and won cash prize of INR 25000 as reward. He also gave a detailed 20-minute book talk at the Scholarly Book Club on his favorite book, “The Psychology of Money” by Morgan Housel. It involved deep analysis of the book, and interaction with other members of the club.

He also participated in several Olympiads by International Olympiad Foundation and got the following positions:
English: International Rank 1
Commerce: International Rank 1
Economics: International Rank 1
Mathematics: Silver Medal

B.) Our Prodigy team comprising of Ansh Gupta (12 A), Suryansh Govind (12 A), Tanish Jain( 12 A) and Vidit Goel (11 A) qualified for the top 6 teams i.e. the Final Round out of more than 250 teams for an event organised by Shaheed Sukhdev College of Business Studies on 18th and 19th February.

C.) Shambhava Sood & Anurag Shrikar (12-D) recently took part in the Delhi State Games Chess swiss tournament, in the 'Under 19' category. After two consecutive days of vigorous battles of the minds, they both performed well and were in the top 16. They both scored one victory on day 1 and two wins plus one draw on day 2. Apart from this, Anurag also got a walkover victory in the first round and qualified for the NATIONALS.

D.) Devyaan Arora from class XII-A did an internship with leading universities (Harvard & MIT) He worked in the Events and Administration Department, building marketing strategies and heading the research wing. 
He also was the runner-up in an intra FRF flagship mockstock competition organised by Shri Ram College of Commerce (SRCC) He was one of the youngest to achieve such a remarkable feat in an All-India level Trading Simulation Competition.

 

He was a Runners-up in multiple All India Tennis Association (AITA) lawn tennis championships organised by AITA. He received Certificates of Merit & Splendid performance after playing 3 Qualification Matches for qualifying into the main draw of the All India level tournaments, competing against the top players of India.
 

He received Certificate of Splendid Performance, a Letter of Recommendation for displaying exceptional performance, a certificate of Splendid Performance & Experience for being one of the top performing Ambassadors by Shri Guru Gobind Singh College of Commerce (SGGSCC) for participating in Financial Mentorship programme 2.0. He was one of the only few students from St. Columba’s to qualify for this programme. It is one of the most coveted events aiming to demystify various aspects of finance and help students gain a better understanding.
 

He was also selected among one of the 40 teams of Valfee, for an event named Valfee - TrendingTopicsChallenge organised by Nacho Nwana, Co-Founder of Valfee and Former MIT Class President in collaboration with Learn with Leaders. Participating teams had to prepare a creative and empirical repository of topics for teachers and educators, consisting of topics that students are passionate about and talk about, outside of school.
 

The Finance and Investment Cell - Kirori Mal College organised an event called RAID THE TRADE where he also received a certificate of Merit for being one of the top 20 performers & being one of the only high school students to achieve this feat (after qualifying the preliminary round)
He also participated in a Mockstock (Dinero) organised by Finance and investment cell of Sri Aurobindo College. He Secured one of the top 30 positions from over 700 participants ; received a gift card (voucher), a coupon & a certificate of merit.
He participated in Menace at Metropolis - Flagship Mock Stock Event organised by SRCC and was awarded a Certificate of Splendid performance
Last but not least he participated in an event called Consilartis: The Policy Competition organised by SRCC where he was yet again awarded a certificate of Splendid Performance

E.) Divye Kumar from class 12-B participated in a competition called Eco Rush organised by IIM rohtak which tested various Economics concepts as well as general knowledge Economics. He also participated in ClassAct 2022, a quiz that was organised by Hindustan Times that tested general knowledge. He participated in Finova Stock Exchange, a mockstock competition which was organised by SIES College Of Commerce and Economics.

F.) Aadi Nag from class XII-B got 1st position in guitar category in a competition hosted by AIS, 3rd position in crescendo (annual competition organized  by AIS) 

2nd position in Bandstand 2021 and 2nd position in Virtuoso or so so ( a competition held by Cambridge School.
