The parents of kindergarten stepped into the gates of St.Columba's School on Monday 26th of March to attend the orientation ceremony and become a part of the great Columban family.
The honourable principal, Br. Miranda welcomed the parents into the school and acquainted them with the ethos and vision of the school. He spoke about the legacy of our blessed founder, Edmund Rice and the endeavours of the Christian Brothers. He urged the parents to encourage the children to speak English in order to attain fluency and competency in the language. He guided the parents to adopt and practice relaxation techniques for positivity and a beautiful life. The Junior School Headmistress, Mrs.Kaushal spoke about the importance of parents’ close involvement in the child’s daily routine. She briefed them about simple tips on good parenting. The parents were introduced to the functioning of the school and the role of teachers and special educators. A short PowerPoint presentation was shown about the infrastructure and activities of the Junior School. The protection officer, Mrs. Guglani gave a presentation about the school’s Child Protection policy. She suggested simple steps to the parents for safeguarding and protecting their children. The orientation culminated with the parents visiting the respective classrooms and meeting the teachers of kindergarten.
